Daycare Photo Journal
January 2007:
Welcome to the new year! Hard to believe, but time flying as it does,
we're now only 5 years away from the end of time, as predicted by the
Mayan Calendar.
But the dogs are oblivious, and not given to fretting about such things,
so we'll follow their example and play, play, play. I did want to thank
their fabulously generous and thoughtful caretakers at the other end of
the leash for the embarrassment of riches bestowed on us over the
holidays. OH! The cakes, cookies, brownies, and candy! OH! The catered
meals and delicacies from Paris, Wisconsin, Italy, and St. Elmo! OH! The
embroidered towels, cross-stitch signage, and posters of creative
commendation! OH! The gift certificates, fruits, ornaments, and even a
ceramic tree decorated with tiny dogs and glittering lights! OH! And so
much more. Suffice it to say, we were just blown away by the outpouring
of affection and validation that what we're doing here is just good
work. Ours are the best clients, customers, and friends in the wide,
wide world, and I'll take on any challengers to defend that position.
We're looking forward to Year Three here at PDX. Robin
has left for other adventures, but
Carrie has returned to spend her
Tuesday afternoons teaching Art Therapy to the Little Dogs.
Billy and
Kayla have joined the party, keeping the Big Dogs entertained. Happily,
all three are young people, so Be, Nancy, Julie, Leanne, and I will be able to
kick back, sip margaritas (or hot toddies on a day like today), and
watch them and Ashley scamper to and fro. Life is good! -- Bev

Fergus Barred
From Small Wonders Playland! |
 |
|
Fergus, the Scotty who has spent his tender
formative weeks and months with the little dogs found his Inner
Terrier, and was promptly graduated to Big Dog Land. |
 |
|
Fergus's mom, Charlotte, was both proud and
sad. "The Brat Pack will never be the same," she said. I knew
this day would come, and I just hope the Big Dogs are dog
enough, because this little guy is going to rock their world. |

And so it was. |
