Check-in
We open for check-in at 6:30am. Dogs are assigned individual crates where
they hang out until 8:30am, at which time we cry havoc and let loose the hounds.
Group play
Group play is supervised so that all of the dogs can enjoy their time together.
Our main job is to watch the gang carefully and redirect any escalating behavior
before a problem occurs. Owners are not allowed in the play area since their
presence tends to cause some dogs to go into guard mode. We do post several
hundred pictures of the dogs playing each month in our
photo galleries.
Naptime
Have you ever been to Vegas or Disney World? Dog daycare is kind of like that
experience, only with canids instead of primates. It's wildly exciting; there are
all sorts of things to investigate, smell, play with, and chase. Dogs need
some downtime to calm down, relax, and renew their energy reserves. Otherwise,
you could be taking home a tired, cranky dog instead of a tired, happy dog. At
naptime, each dog gets his own crate, a biscuit (as allowed), and a gentle
scratch under the chin. Truth be told, we dim the lights and put on some
nice, soft music especially designed for dogs to set the mood for drifting off.
Check-out
Evening training classes begin at 6:30pm, so we close the daycare department
right at 6pm. As a convenience to our customers who cannot pick their dog up
before 6pm, we have a late pickup option most Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and
Thursday nights: whenever you arrive after 6pm, go straight to the crate room.
Your dog will be resting with her leash and collar on top of the crate. Please
be careful to close the crate door when you leave so that it doesn’t create an
obstruction. Please let us know when you need a late pick-up. We do not charge
for late pick-ups, but we don’t have staff up front to get dogs or take payment
after 6pm, so please make any purchases and payments in the morning when you
drop off your dog. Late pickups are not available Friday evenings or during
weeks that we do not have classes (once every 2 months).
Visiting hours
We're very proud of our facility, and love to show it off. Please call ahead for
an appointment so that we can make arrangements for covering the dogs as well as
the front office while we're visiting.
