Canine Good Citizen
AKC’s Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) is a certification
program designed to recognize and reward dogs who have good manners at
home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part
program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic
good manners for dogs. Dogs must pass a 10-part test that demonstrates
their proficiency with obedience fundamentals and proper greeting
behaviors, as well as confidence, cleanliness, and health. PDX offers
seven classes each year to prepare dog/handler teams to pass the test.
We're proud of our graduates, many of whom go on to become therapy or
performance dogs, and certainly outstanding household pets.
