AKC Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Certification Testing

Play Dog Excellent is delighted to offer certification testing for AKC's Canine Good Citizen program and Therapy Dogs International's therapy dog program. Please see below for details and call us at 423-870-7740 if you have any questions.

• When:
  • CGC: Thursday, September 2 at 7:30pm
  • TDI: Saturday, September 18, 8:30am to 1:30pm -

    There will be no other dates scheduled in 2010. More may be scheduled in early 2011 TBD.

• Where: Play Dog eXcellent Dog Daycare & Training facility [ directions ]
• Cost: CGC $10     TDI $15     Both tests $25  Fees must be paid in advance, and are only refundable if the reserved spot can be filled.

Other		Dogs who are registered with another therapy dog organization will not be approved by TDI. Dogs that have bitten a person will not be approved by TDI, regardless of circumstances. Registered service dogs will not be approved by TDI.

What you'll need to bring:

CGC	TDI
Buckle, snap, or slip collar*	Buckle or snap collar*
6 foot leash	6 foot leash - cloth or leather only
Your dog's brush or comb	Copy of rabies certificate
optional: AKC registration or PAL number	Copy of inoculation records
	Your dog's brush or comb

* Training collars, head harnesses, and prong collars are not allowed, including Martingale collars, slip collars, choke or prong collars, or any training harnesses (SENSE-ation™, no-pull, etc.). Non-restrictive harnesses are allowed.

Other:

• Both tests encourage verbal praise and touching as rewards, but toys and/or treats are not allowed in the ring or at any time during testing.
• Our indoor arena is not heated or air conditioned, so please dress appropriately.
• Your dog will be judged on appearance and grooming, so be sure to clip nails, clean ears, and give a good once-over to spiff up the coat.
